Spaghetti!

Today, Memorial Day, we had the most unconventional meal. I had planned to have a BBQ for the Holiday, complete with corn on the cob. Instead, we were rained out. Not just rain, DOWNPOURS!

So, I decided to make an Italian meal instead.
We each had giant bowl of pasta with Bolognase Sauce.

Patrick had a blast eating his spaghetti...

While Patrick enjoyed his lunch, Finn refused to touch it...

he posed with Patrick,

watched him twirl his spaghetti...

and even twirled himself. But, when the time came to eat the pasta, he handed me the fork!

The kids had a great time, even making "train tracks" with the spaghetti.

Gill and I loved watching Patrick's spaghetti-eating technique, it was such a fun lunch!

Happy Birthday Melissa

Today, Johanna and I had a surprise Birthday Playdate for Melissa.

The "Big Kids" and the "Little Kids" played

and then everyone helped Melissa blow out her candles!

The kids enjoyed cupcakes while the moms ate angel food cake and strawberries.

After all the partying, Jenna was exhausted! Celebrating Mommy's Birthday is hard work!

Happy Birthday, Melissa!

The Nursery

Sullivan's Nursery is finally complete.
I love how sweet the room is, it is such a peaceful place to enjoy my sweet baby,
I thought I'd give you a tour...

The Entrance

Changing Station

The Peter Rabbit is from Sully's Godmother, Sara. It was her bunny when she was a child.

The gigantic piggy bank is a gift from Nana and PopPop
and it is sure to be filled with Pop Pop's gold coins soon!

My Corner

I love rocking Sullivan in this chair, we do it several times every day. This chair was once in the boys' room and, while, I'm not that sentimental, I don't think I could ever part with it. This chair is where I bonded with my sons.

Suzy and Paolo sent Sully the playmat.
It is soft, cushy and Sully loves the bells that chime when he hits the turtle or frog.

The beautiful bookcase is a gift from Johanna, Sara and Jennifer.
I love the bookcase - it is filled with books that I read to all 3 of my boys.

The blanket that drapes the chair was made by my mom when she was pregnant with Suzy.
I watched her make it and when I asked her who it was for and she replied "the baby", I was none too pleased. Therefore, she gave this blanket to me and made another for baby Suzy!

Sullivan's Bed

Not only is Sully's bed comfy, but it is surrounded by such special items.

Melissa made the beautiful letters that hang above his bed. Each one is so special and unique.

Nana and Pop Pop gave Sully his "lovie" that hangs on the rail,
I know he will want to cuddle with it while he sleeps very soon.

The blue blanket was made for him by our neighbor and friend, Susan.
It is so comfy, we use it often while rocking in the chair.

Sara gave her Godson the Peter Rabbit Mobile -
he squeals with delight when the music is on and the sweet animals circle around his head.

The Big Wall

The large wall in the nursery has lots of great treasures for Sullivan:

A Silver Flask - gift from Aunt Nancy and Godfather Mike, engraved "Do Not Open Until 2031"
Personalized Bible - gift from Godmother Sara
Blue Bunny - A gift from the Parkers that I know Sully will love as much as Aidan and Ella love theirs
Blanket - Made with Love from Nana especially for Sully - it will be treasured always.

There are many other special items on this wall, and in Sully's nursery, that are so special to our family.

Sullivan's Nursery is such a special place, it is by far my favorite room in the house.
I hope you enjoyed the tour!

Daddy-style weekend

This weekend we had a lot of mini-adventures, all things I have done without Gill in the past.
It is so funny to see how much more adventurous Finnegan and Patrick are when Daddy is around!

On Saturday, we went to Discovery Place....

Gill taught Finn how to play (bang) on the drums

they built with blocks

and made the gears work...

while Sully watched on!

Patrick loved building trucks...

and trains!

Discovery Place was so much fun with Gill there with us.
Having an extra parent makes such a difference and let's us really give the kids some one on one time to learn and explore with Mommy and Daddy.

On Sunday the boys wanted to "take" Daddy to Monkey Joe's, as he had never been.
I thought that the guys would stick to the Lightning McQueen slide, but no, they had other ideas...

They found the largest, most daring, bounce house...

climbed the big rock wall and scared mommy when they peaked out the top!

Patrick and Finnegan slid to the bottom and cheered for themselves
and then waited for Gill to get down the slide as well!

It just goes to prove that everything is more fun with Daddy!

Morning at the Park

Today, Johanna and I took the kids across to the Blakeney Shopping Center.
We heard that they installed a spray ground and thought the boys might enjoy it while we had some coffee and watched the babies.

We were right, they did love it. But, Finn and Patrick didn't run through the water once! Instead, they enjoyed pressing the "On" button and watching the water shoot out. It was hysterical!

While the boys played, Liliana hung out in her stroller and Aunt JoJo loved on Sully.

Jo was so sweet, at one point she had all 3 boys over by the "On" Button while I got to hold Liliana.

It was such a beautiful day, Sully and Lil cuddled on their blanket and enjoyed the sunshine.

Patrick and Finn took a spin on the playground before we headed home

What a great morning!

A Double Playdate

Yesterday we had our friends over for a playdate, but, this one was unique.
There were 2 playdates going on at the same time!

We spent the morning with Johanna, Liliana, Melissa, Isabella and Jenna!
Finally, the girls outnumbered the boys in my house.

Finnegan and Patrick showed Isabella their new surprise - a great big train table...

and even let Liliana play, too!

Sully loved surrounding himself with beautiful girls...

and we think that they have already all become great friends!

Patrick, Finn and Isabella shared some lunch and then went right back to playing.

And, while Sully's play "dates" slept...

he cuddled up with JoJo!

What a fantastic morning and a great start to a new tradition!
