Memorial Day Weekend

If you ask the boys what the best part of the weekend was, they will give you one answer.
Care to guess?

Was it seeing the Oscar Mayer Weiner-Mobile?
nope, but Mommy loved it!

Was it playing in the sprayground?
no, but Sullivan had a blast!

Was it swimming with our friends?
Not even that, but we sure did have fun with the Weltz Family.

Have you guessed yet? Can you even imagine what could top that?

Only one thing... LIGHTNING McQUEEN!

We "met" Lightning, Mator and the new car Finn McMissle at Speed Street.

The cars are on their National Tour on the way to California for the premier of the new movie.

Now, here's a follow up question -
What do you think we'll be doing the weekend of June 24?
That's right, Cars 2 - here we come!

Flashback Friday

Yesterday was Patrick and Finnegan's last day of preschool for the year.
We loved our year with Ms. Hanna and will miss her very much.

Here is a look back at the boys' on the first day of school in September:

Practicing for Pop Pop

On Wednesday, Sara and I took the kids to play mini golf - we had so much fun!

Finn showed off his "form" to the girls:

Sully had a blast putting the ball in and out of the cup:

The big guys kept saying that Pop Pop was going to be so proud!

Lizzy and Ginny had so much fun with all challenges - balls in the water, holes in the logs,
they figured out how to work each trap and then all the kids did it over and over again.

I'm not sure if we spent more time golfing or fishing for the balls,

either way, it was a great morning!

Little Swimmers

Today we spent a lot of time at the pool.
We went very early, before 10am and stayed until 11. It was the first time this year that Gill had come with us. In the afternoon, after the strong sun was gone, we went back for more swim time.I have a sneaking suspision that we will be at the pool VERY often this summer. And, for those who may be concerned, rest easy knowing that the kids are LATHERED in sunblock!

New Neighbors

This week we welcomed 2 new neighbors to our block.
It was the official homecoming of Baby Athena and Baby Sebastian.

When Melissa and Chris went to the hospital, we ran across the street and began decorating.

Even Sully got in on the action!

Finn & Patrick were so proud of their work and couldn't wait to see the babies.

Finally, the happy family arrived home.
The boys did not understand why I would not let them cross the street to meet the babies,
we just waved from the sidewalk.

When I explained that we didn't want to share our germs with the babies,
Patrick replied, "But my hands aren't even STICKY." enough said.

Welcome home Athena and Sebastian, we can't wait to play with you!

Tu Tu Much Fun

Today, we were honored to be invited to Lizzy and Ginny's first Ballet Recital.

Patrick and Finn brought the girls single yellow roses
and we very proud to give them to their ballerinas.

Ginny and Lizzy were perfect little ballerinas.

Patrick and Finn loved watching all the girls dance and cheered on their friends.

After the recital was over, the kids all hugged and
Finn held Ginny's hand all the way to the reception - so sweet!

It was a great family afternoon -

we can't wait until the ballerinas perform again!

Mother's Day

No better way to spend Mother's Day.

Surrounded by my beautiful sons, my fantastic husband...

and, of course, Nana and Pop Pop.

This was my first Mother's Day spent both my children and my mom -

3 Generations together.

Such an amazing day - so grateful to be a mom.

Happy Mother's Day!

Adventures with Pop Pop

This past week, we were treated to an extra special visit with my dad, Pop Pop.
Yes, they got to go to the Golf Tournament with him, but there was more fun!

On Thursday, Pop Pop, Sully and I visited the big guys' class. We joined the kids for lunch...

and then Pop Pop did a special story time with the class!

He read, If You Give A Mouse A Cookie and it was a big hit.

Patrick, Finn AND Sully were grinning ear to ear, it was such a special morning.

Pop Pop and the boys also spent a lot of time getting their hands (and clothes) dirty.

They planted vegetables and herbs and added more flowers to our garden.

We all had such a wonderful visit.
The boys loved having such special, quality time, with their Pop Pop.
