My Chair

4 years ago, while preparing for the arrival of the twins, I found a perfect chair for the nursery. It was so comfortable, that I fell asleep in the store while trying it out!

When Finn and Patrick were born, we spent hours a day in that chair. I nursed them, rocked them, and even napped with them while curled up in our soft green glider.

Gill would read to Patrick and Finn every evening in the chair...

and, of course, Mommy posed them for MANY a picture while propping them in it!

When the boys got older, the chair became a prop for many mischievous adventures. This picture was taken in 2009, right before they got behind the rocker and pushed it over! After that, the chair was officially removed from the room.

Not long after, the chair was loved again. Sully and I have spent a lot of hours this past year curled up in it together. No matter how hectic our day was, I knew it would end cuddling with Sullivan in the nursery - our own quiet Mommy & Me time.

Today, we said "goodbye" to our chair, as we sent it across the street to the Pluchos Nursery. While I'm sad to see it go, I know it is time, as Sully is trying the same maneuver his big brothers did to flip it over.

I'm so happy to know that another mom will rock her twins to sleep,
and another dad will read bedtime stories to his children in this chair.
I wish Melissa and Chris years of happy memories in the rocker.

Masterpiece Monday

After school on Thursday we were driving home and the boys asked what we were doing in the afternoon. When I was unsure of the plans, Finnegan asked if we could go to art class. We had only ever been once before, about 6 months ago, and it was not a success but I was willing to try again.

We went to open play time at Noah's Art later in the afternoon and had a blast!

Patrick and Finnegan painted...

made "caterpillars" with beads...

and stamped...

while Sully tried to eat all the art equipment!

It was so much fun and we produced some great masterpieces!

Double the Fun

Today was Melissa and Chris' Baby Shower. We were so excited to be a part of the celebration - especially because they will be TWICE as blessed - that's right, TWINS!!

The shower was so much fun, and because families were invited, everyone was able to celebrate the special occassion. Sully spent time with Lil, Melissa got to visit with her girlfriends, Chris and the guys hung out, and Patrick and Finn found friends to play and snack with.

Not only were Melissa & Chris' there for the celebration, but lots of their family came in for the event. It was so sweet to see all the expectant grandparents, you could see how thrilled everyone is for the new additions. We are so happy for our friends and are happy to have been a part of their special day.

Sully's First Haircut

Today, we took a family field trip to Pigtails and Crewcuts so
ALL the boys could get haircuts.

Can you spot my 3 little guys in this picture?

Sully was not so thrilled to have his hair combed...

even less happy about the scissors...

and, finally, broke down.

But, he sure was happy to be back in mommy's arms when it was all over!

A Day of Play

Yesterday was a day filled with friends and playtime. It was a gorgeous day, perfect for lots of outdoor fun and packed full of great friends!

We spent the morning with the Weltz Girls.

Ginny, Lizzy, Finn and Patrick snacking...

The 4some found a creative way to play with a tennis ball cart -

and off they went!

While Sully and Godmomma Sara had some swing fun!

After rest time, we met up with Big Boys Colin and Aidan for Ice Cream and fun at the playground. I can't believe I left my camera at home, will have to get some shots of this next time we get together.

We finished off the day with a visit from the Poole Girls, the kids played outside at the water table and sandbox.

It was a fantastic way to spend the day!

Parade Day!

Today was the Charlotte St. Patrick's Day Parade.
We packed up our green gear and headed uptown for the celebration.

Gill got a workout, carrying all the big guys...

but, we found a great spot to watch the parade and the boys got to see all the action.
They loved seeing the horses, green excavator and racing cars.
We danced to all the bands, but, somehow we missed the bagpipers?!?!

There was even room for Mom and Sully to sit.
(although, Sully did not seem to impressed by the parade)

We had a visit from the Charlotte Knights Dinosaur...

and the boys had a blast.

A beautiful day, spent with all my guys, enjoying a great parade -
that truly is the luck of the Irish!
