Don't Say Cheese...

Say "COOKIE!"

We've finally found a cookie that all the boys love - Chocolate Jo Jo's.
(Trader Joe's version of an OREO)

Sully opens them, Finn dunks them and Patrick likes them "au naturale" -
any way you eat them, they sure are sweet!

Pirates and Princesses

Today we were joined by Isabella and Jenna for a fun morning.
I gave the big kids a very important assignment:

Design your own sail...

To be placed on your Pirate Ship Waffles!!
(notice them sailing in a sea of blueberries surrounded by treasure)

Trying to find a theme that suited the boys and girls was not difficult,

Isabella is "hooked" by Finnegan.

Even the little ones played along -
Princess Jenna and Sullivan, King of the Buried Treasure.

It was a fun day had by all, Me hearties!

Flashback Friday

This past week we celebrated Family Day.
A lot may have changed in four years, but one thing remains the same
- they are happiest together

Family Day

Today was a very special day for our family. On July 17, 2007, we brought Finnegan home from the NICU. We waited desperately for that day to come and sometimes I feel like the anniversary of our family's reunion is just as important as a birthday.

Gill and I try to do something special every year to mark the occasion, though we have yet to share the reasoning behind the day with the boys.

We drove down to Columbia, South Carolina and spent the day at the RiverBank Zoo.

All 3 boys explored the aquarium together, all the while Sullivan yelled, "Fishies!"

Patrick and Finn helped another young family -
they fed a mother and baby giraffe.

The big guys rode an elephant...

ok, not a real one, but still!

During a snack break, the boys once again proved that just because they are twins, they don't enjoy the same things.

Patrick and his Plain Vanilla Ice Cream

Finn and his Krazy Kolors Cup!

A family Carousel Ride

At the zoo playground, the big guys proved just how grown up they are.
They helped Sullivan go down the slide for his first (and second, and third) time.

We ended our visit with a train ride - that's right, we can find trains wherever we go!

(Sullivan loved it and cheered - Choo Choo the whole time)

It was a great Family Day!

Hard Hats or Party Hats?

On Saturday we put on our Hard Hats and celebrated
Patrick and Finnegan's 4th Birthday.

The Party was at Discovery Place Kids in Huntersville and the kids had a blast!

There was something for everyone -

Water Table for Sully and his friends...

train tables for chugging...

water table and gears for the big kids...

a power boat for sailors...

repair shops, firetrucks, rollercoasters and much much more!

Patrick and Finnegan were surrounded by friends and family who love them, and any activity a child could dream of, what more can you ask for?

Cake, of course!!

(Success - 2 candles blown out and no need for urgent care!)

It was such a great afternoon - lots of fun, laughter and friends.

Happy Birthday, Finn and Patrick - we love you soo much!
