Summer Fun Week 7

This week was not filled with the activities that I originally planned.  It wasn't the rain that deterred us, but I got sick, with mono, and had to take it easy.
The boys were so understanding, never complained and I do believe they had a good week.
We made robot monster heads
Saw a presentation from the Carolina Raptor center at Imaginon with friends.
 Played lots of games

 Colored
and the boys took good care of me!
 We built a lego village
and I got lots of help from reinforcements!
Mom and Dad took the boys for a day.
The swam, played tennis and golfed with Nannie and Pop Pop.
On Saturday, Gill took the boys the Children's Museum and then swimming in the pool
The boys ended the week with a Charlotte Knights Baseball Game.
It may not have been ideal, but I think they had a good week after all.

Summer Fun Week 6

Take a Trip Monday and Tuesday
On Monday morning, Jenny, Nathan and Charlotte joined us in the mini-van and
we caravanned to Atlanta with Lia and Meredith.
That's right, 4 Moms and 10 Children travelled to Georgia for 2 days of adventure.
After checking into the hotel, we ventured to LegoLand Discovery Center.
We went to mini-land first, it was an entire city made of little legos.
The boys spent a LOT of time at Racer Build Center

They created all kinds of vehicles
and then raced them down the very tall tracks.
Finn made a race car with a robot on top.
After racing, we enjoyed a 4D movie - including Lego Heroes and Rock Monsters!
In the large play area, with climbing areas and slide,
the boys jumped into pits of giant legos.
We rode Merlins Ride several times - the more we pedaled,
the higher our vehicles went.

We ended with our third ride on the Lego Monster Ride and a trip to the gift shop.
The boys spent their adventure money on special goodies from Lego.
We went back to the hotel.  The kids all swam in the indoor pool...
and then had pizza dinner on the terrace.
Sully was so happy to sit next to Big Boy Mason and tell him jokes.
At the end of the night all the kids were exhausted
(and so were the moms)
After a buffet breakfast in the hotel, we headed to the Georgia Aquarium.
The kids were absolutely amazed at all the sea creatures -
especially the 3 whale sharks.
In the walking tunnel through the big tank, the kids each had a map and were able to identify the fish and had a lot of fun doing so.

The boys and I spent a lot of time watching the Beluga Whales.
They had their own tank and it was so entertaining to watch the whales play
and swim right up to the glass.
After exploring all the tanks, we went to the Dolphin show.  We all loved it - not only did the dolphins do all kinds of trick with their trainers, but there was a storyline based about Sea Monster - bonus!
It was a wild trip.
The kids all left with smiles on their faces and very exhausted mommies!

Think About It Thursday
This afternoon we went to the library.
Patrick and Finnegan participated in the Dinosaur Dig.
They learned about fossils, and were able to dig for their own and identify the different bones.

Fun with Friends Friday
We spent the morning at the pool with Drew and Evan.
During an afternoon thunderstorm, the boys and I played Silly Sentences
and then mashed some bananas and made bread for the morning.
In the evening, we met Bridget and Emily for dinner at the opening night of Tony Sazzos Pizzeria.
