Not your usual bedtime story

Instead of a regular bedtime story, Gill, Patrick and Finnegan have been reading the Cub Scout Handbook.  Our Tiger Cubs are so enthusiastic.  After bedtime tonight, each one came down individually to show us how they can do the Scout Promise by themselves.

Lunch at School

Today, Sully and I went to school and had lunch with Patrick and Finn.
It was a beautiful day, so we were able to sit outside at the picnic tables
and explore the school's garden

Too Big Tuesday

Sully is far too big to sit on the sidelines during Soccer Games.
With his own team of 3 and 4 year olds, and almost matching jerseys,
Sully is rockin' the soccer field!

Soccer and Scouting

What a weekend!  It was quite a kickoff to the fall season with soccer games for all and a Cub Scout campout for the big guys and Daddy.

Sully had his first practice/game.  He and Gill had lots of fun together and Sully seemed to be excited about soccer, not just the snacks at the end!
Patrick and Finn had their game as well.  Both boys had a chance to play goalie
Patrick
Finn
(Notice his awesome moves!)
Both boys played so well - much improvement from last year - and Patrick even scored a goal!

Nannie and PopPop were there to cheer on the teams (in team colors of course).
After the games were over it was time for our Tiger Cubs to go to their first campout.
The big guys were so excited at drop off (and Daddy was too!)

They made fishing bobbers, played volleyball and had cookouts.
The boys also tried archery (and Patrick LOVED it)
 and did lots of fishing.
The three of them camped under the stars and enjoyed the beautiful sunset.
The next afternoon, Sully and I picked up Gill and the boys. They were tired, but enthusiastic about their experience.  They already have another cub scout campout planned for October!

Sully's First Day of Preschool 2103

Today was Sully's First day of Preschool.
He was super excited to start the "Big Three's Class"
He wore his new backpack from Nannie and PopPop and was all smiles when he entered the building.
When we got to his class, he showed Gill and me where to hang his backpack then he said "hello" to his teachers and walked right in.  Sully found frogs with numbers on the wall and asked me why they only went up to ten.  Then, his teacher gave him a shape puzzle and Sully told her he was glad it had a trapezoid!
When I picked him up from school, Sully told me he had a happy day.  We then had a picnic at the playground with his friend (and classmate), Emma.

Labor Day Weekend

This weekend was filled with new experiences.
On Saturday we prepared for our new Cub Scouts to go on their first campout next weekend.
We needed lots of supplies, and after we purchased everything we needed, we tested it all out in the front yard!
In the evening, we enjoyed a bonfire and outdoor adventure with the Coziers.
The kids had a great time walking the trails, scooting, and roasting marshmallows.
While Sully and Finn enjoyed the smores, the highlight for Patrick was using a bow and arrow for the first time.  He has been telling us he wants to try archery for so long, and he was thrilled when Andrew and Gill gave each kid a turn.  Such big smiles!
After swimming at Nannie and Pop Pop's pool all summer, the boys had not yet mustered the courage to conquer the big slide - until this weekend!  On Sunday, Finn decided to give it a go, and went down the slide more times than we could count.  Monday, we all went back to the pool, and with a little convincing from Finn and Gill, all the boys were sliding!  Even all the grownups, including Nannie, enjoyed the wild ride.  I don't have a video of all the boys sliding, because all the adults needed to be present to help with the kids, but here is a video of brave Finnegan trying the slide for the first time.
