Summer Fun Week 4

This was a VERY different summer week.  From Monday thru Thursday this week, Patrick and Finnegan were in Camp Invention all day, while Sully had Noah's Art Camp those same 4 mornings.

Between the camps, we did manage to get some family activities in!

Make It Monday
Sully set out his Grow Dino experiment on Monday,
and waited patiently for 3 days for the dinos to get full size.
There was lots of Lego building before and after camps.
Sully and I enjoyed some Mommy & Me afternoon treats
including special Angry Birds Yogurt at TCBY.
Wet and Wild Wednesday
After camp, Sully and I picked up his buddy, Colton.
The boys played at our home before we headed to the sprayground
for silliness and water fun.
Thursday - Last Day of Camp
Sully had a great week at Noah's Art Camp!  He was able to spend it with some neighborhood friends AND Emma.  Such a good time.
At the end of Camp Invention, our family went into school to see what the boys had been working on all week.  They created amazing things, including pin-bug machines, hearing aids and cars powered by pulleys and propellors.  It was definitely an exciting and educational week for our two inventors and they are already asking about going again next year.
 Such a great camp week!

7th Birthday Party

Today we celebrated Patrick and Finnegan's 7th Birthday
with a mad science party at Atomz Lab.
Surrounded by their friends, Finn and Patrick,
had a blast creating all kinds of science experiments.
All the kids created green slime to take home
They created giant CO2 Bubbles with dry ice
and all the kids got to hold them!
They put a target on Gill's back and each child took a turn
launching bottle rockets at his back!
 sweet friends
Here are some videos from some of the great experiments:
Before we knew it, it was time to enjoy sweet treats and sing to our birthday boys!
Make a wish!
Happy Birthday Finn and Patrick, we love you!

Battle of the Bots

This afternoon we went to the Schiele Museum for the Battle of the Bots.
The boys (and Gill) loved watching the small robots battle in the "cage"
and the big robots play hockey in the rink.
The even used some kid-appropriate robots to battle each other.
With a high school robotics team,
the students let all three boys control a robot that the team created.
We went back to the cage for some final battles.
 Sully designed his own robot.
Such a fun way to spend a family afternoon!

Summer Fun Week 3

Make it Movie Monday
Today's theme was based on "The Land Before Time"
In between swimming at the pool and Patrick's Tae Kwon Do,
we made dinosaur fossils, and ended our day watching the cute dino movie.
 Take a Trip Tuesday
Our trip was not far today, just 10 miles down the road to Nannie and Pop Pop's house!
The boys had a special golf outing with dad that included a ride on the golf cart and lunch at the clubhouse.
 Wet and Wild Wednesday
We had a wild and crazy afternoon at Rebecca's pool this afternoon.
The 5 dudes rocked the slides and gears and even showed us their buff beach bods!
 Think About it Thursday
This afternoon Patrick and Finn went to a special program on the library all about Owls.  While they were in the program, Sully and I read some new books and played on the computer.  I have no pictures from P&F, but they both came home with fun new facts about owls and their talons.
 Fun with Friends Friday
Today we took a trip to the Riverbank Zoo with the Pluchos family.
We visited the lions, tigers and monkeys first.
Then, the kids each took turns feeding the giraffes.
The boys were hesitant at first..
especially of that long black tongue...
but soon they warmed up to it and were even petting their heads.
In the gorilla exhibit, the boys stood directly on the other side of the glass from a big guy.
Patrick even tried measuring his foot to the gorillas!
The kids all enjoyed the penguin exhibit,
especially Sully who chased them as fast as he could.
Sully and Athena
 Kids Monkeying Around!
 Enjoying a carousel ride!
Finn rode a tiger, Athena rode a Koala...
and Sully, Patrick and Sebastian all rode Panda Bears!
We finished our visit with a tour of the aquarium, where the boys loved the sharks and tropical fish.
We enjoyed an ice cream treat before heading home.
Such a great zoo trip with great friends!
