Panthers Fever

While we haven't really been football fans in the past, this year, the boys have gotten into cheering for our home team, the Carolina Panthers.

Pathers Fever reached an all-time high today, when the Panthers played in the championship.
Patrick adjusted his CubScout uniform to show support for his favorite team.
And the boys asked we go out to dinner to a restaurant that was playing the game!
We had an awesome dinner at Bad Daddy Burger Bar, but the boys spent the whole time looking over our shoulders at the game.
With 2 weeks until the Super Bowl, the boys are already gearing up for the big game!

Welcome Bailey!

This month we welcomed a new addition to our family!
A lab mom & her litter were rescued by the Carolina Poodle Rescue in South Carolina.  After being interview via telephone by their staff and providing references, we were invited down to meet them.  The kids were so excited!  Once we met the litter, it was obvious who would be joining our family!
Before we knew it, the paperwork was complete, and we were riding our sweet new puppy home!  In the car we came up with her name - Bailey!
 We are all in love
Bailey loves to cuddle on the couch with mom...
put will also chase the boys around the house, sliding into tables and walls as she goes.
She will sit and watch an entire Panthers Game!
And also thinks she's a samurai!
During the cold snowy days, she prefers to curl up by the fire
Bailey truly has our hearts.  She is the perfect addition to our family

Boys Movie

While our streets were finally clear, some roads in the district were still icy, so we had another snow day today!  We invited some friends to join us and headed to Cinebarre for Norm of the North and lunch!
The boys were so excited that they were allowed to sit in a row all by themselves, while Allie and I sat in front of them.  So much silliness from the back row of the theater!

Snow Days!

We heard the weatherman's warnings and this time, he was right!  On Thursday, i went to the store to stock up on the necessities and then we went out to a PTA dinner at Pei Wei.
Sully and Alexis enjoy their noodles
By friday morning, the streets were sheets of ice and the snow was starting to fall.
We went to the neighbors for playtime and lunch
The moms cheer to the day off!
After lunch we went home for board games
In the evening, we had everyone back over to our house for a Pasta dinner!  I made pasta with sausage, and because we didn't have any italian bread, I made my own! All in all, we fed 16 people easily, and the kids all went upstairs to watch a movie after dinner while the parents enjoyed themselves.
After everyone had left, and Gill put Sully to sleep, I grabbed Patrick and Finnegan & we bundled up and headed outside.  It was 11pm, the moon was shining, and the roads were sheets of ice.  We grabbed our sleds and spent over an hour sledding in the dark.  It was a beautiful night, peaceful & quiet, with the exception of the squeals coming from us as we raced down the hills.  It was truly magical.

Saturday was time for snow.  Beneath the 2 inches of snow was a thick layer of ice.  It made for perfect sledding conditions down our street.
All the neighbors enjoyed hours of sledding.
Bailey was not too impressed by the snow and preferred to spend her weekend curled up next to the fire.
Saturday afternoon was filled with boardgames...
and we cuddled up and watched Jurrasic world in our jammies.
Turns out, our snow days would extend for a couple more days while the district dealt with the ice problems.  But these first two days, at home with our family, were super special.

Sully's Tooth

Sully rung in the New Year by losing his first tooth!
That's right, the Tooth Fairy came to Brooklyn and gave him $5 for his first tooth.
Such a big boy and an exciting way to start 2016
