Season Openers

Today was a big day for the Kilcoynes - Season Openers!

Our day started early with the first practice and tee ball game.
What a difference a year makes!  The boys started off the season strong!
Patrick got a great hit!
Followed by Finnegan - what a double header!
Patrick runs home and waits at home for Finnegan to follow!
On the sidelines, cheering his brothers was Sully.
He cheered for the "LUGNUTS" (and spent some time on the ipad)
It was a great first game.
After Tee Ball was over it was time for Sully's turn at soccer.
He met his coaches and got his jersey.  The jersey number is 5, but he spent a few minute negotiating with the coaches for #3, because he is 3 years old!
The team started off with stretching...
and doing drills, with some help from Daddy.
Big Brothers cheered from the sidelines
Our Super Soccer Player!
Go GREEN GATORS!

Easter

Last week we packed up the car and headed to NJ for Easter.
On the car ride up, the boys were surprised with Leapsters (and thankfully headphones) which made the 10 hour trip a bit easier.
When we arrived at Grandma and Grandpa's house,
we got settled in and went to a new playground.  We were able to get out a LOT of energy and had a really fun time.
The next morning, sure enough, the Easter Bunny found us in New Jersey!
We all went to church together and then came home for an Easter Egg Hunt.
The next morning, we said "goodbye"
to Grandma and Grandpa and headed to Brooklyn.
We spent the morning with Aunt Rosemarie, Uncle Alex and Lucas.
The boys played and ate, and played, and then ate some more.
Nothing like Brooklyn Bagels and Italian Cookies to keep them coming back for more.
They may only see each other a couple times a year,
but these boys are always so happy to see each other and play together.
Silly Guys!

St. Patrick's Day 2013

This weekend we celebrated the luck of the Irish!
On Saturday we went to the parade uptown with Nannie.
We got a great spot right on the parade route and had a lot of fun cheering.
Finn loved the floats that gave out candy.  At first he put his hand out and waited patiently, but by the 4th or 5th float, he followed the bigger kids onto the street to pickup all the goodies on the road.
The boys' favorite part was the Star Wars float.   I didn't even know Darth Vador was Irish!

The CMFD had a great bagpipe band and the grownups really enjoyed it.
After the parade, we went home for an Irish Supper.
It was my first attempt at Corned Beef and Cabbage.

Sully preferred the green cupcakes.
Happy St. Patrick, Sullivan and Finnegan's Day!

Masterpiece Monday

Sully created this animal in school last week.
Despite his long tusks (made out of spoons) Sully insists he is a seal and not a walrus.
Whatever he is, the animal sure is adorable and so is his creator!

A Special Character

In February, Finnegan received the Character award for Citizenship.
His picture was on the bulletin board in the front of the school
and a sign was outside his classroom door acknowledging the award.
We are so proud of Finn, as he truly is a good citizen.
As his teacher said, he takes care of his friends,
pride in his classroom and always helps others.

Today was a special day at school.  The awardees of the Character Train had popsicles with the Principal.  Finn got a certificate, special pencil and gift certificate for a cupcake.
Great job, Finnegan - you show great character!
