Family Fiesta

This morning we played at Plaza Fiesta, our favorite indoor play area, with the Weltz Family.

Not only was Sully treated to special time with Godmomma Sara, but because she cared for Sully,
it allowed me the rare opportunity to climb and slide with the big guys.

This play space is amazing.
We've gone several times now and keep finding new tunnels, slides and rope ladders to climb.
It's a blast!

What a great way to spend the morning - with friends, family and the FIESTA!

Can you tell what a great time I had by my total lack of pictures??
There was no time to stop and snap pictures while trying to keep up with Patrick and Finnegan!

Kharma

I have heard stories about something I said when I was a little girl:

I turned to my mother one day and announced,
"I love my daddy so much, I wish I had 2 Daddies and No Mommy".

While, it has been an ongoing joke in my family,
I never realized why it upset my mother so much, until today:

Finnegan: Mommy are you a boy?
Mom: No, Finny, I'm a girl
Finnegan: Mommy, can you be a boy?
Mom: No, Finny, I'm a girl
Finnegan: Mommy, can you be a boy? Then I can have 2 Daddies.

ouch.

Pizza Party!

Last night, Patrick and Finnegan made their own dinner.
I gave them each pizza dough with all the "fixings" and let them have at it.
They were so excited!

Patrick decided to dump all of his "ingredients" and then ask for more.
Finnegan took his time putting spoonfuls of sauce, cheese and pepperoni, piece by piece.

When they were done, they stacked all the bowls and put them in the sink...

and then "patiently" waited for the pizza's to bake.

The results were fantastic -

Patrick and Finnegan dug into their masterpieces...

and enjoyed every bite!

Splish Splash Part 2

Today, I loaded all the boys in the car to take them to the playground. We weren't out of the driveway when the boys started asking to go to the "water playground" aka Sprayground instead. And, while Patrick and Finnegan did not have their bathing suits and I was not armed with towels, I agreed.

When we arrived, I gave them both a cup so they could "catch" water. I also advised them not to throw the water on anyone (but each other) and not to drink the water from the sprayground.

They played so nicely together...

got each other soaked...

but continued to keep Mommy and Baby Sully dry.

And, while I marveled at how much fun they were having and snapped a couple pictures of Patrick...

Finnegan decided it was time to break a rule!

What a spontaneous, fun morning!

Splish Splash!

This weekend we celebrated Margo & Josie's 4th Birthday.
It was a fantastic birthday luau complete with giant water slides!

The Weltz and Kilcoyne kids kept Aaron busy...

and, while they were timid at first, but before I knew it,
Patrick and Finnegan were climbing the slides by themselves!

We enjoyed a great lunch (served by Hawaiian Brenda!)

and then when right back to splish - splashing!

Happy Birthday, Margo & Josie!

Flashback Friday

As you know, the love of trains in our family starts very early.

We gave Patrick and Finnegan their first train set when they were 6 months old.

Finn

Patrick

And, while he has watched his brothers play with trains since the moment he came home from the hospital, this past weekend, Sully got his first real "taste".

He looked all innocent....

but, when his big brothers weren't looking....
he took their train and put it right in his mouth!

and so it begins...

Princess Fun

Every year, my parents send me a great birthday card. It is always VERY pink, VERY cute and VERY girly.
This year was no exception. My birthday card included a paper princess doll and all her clothing and accessories!

My boys showed absolutely no interest in the princess, but when Lizzy Weltz arrived today, I found a perfect princess playmate. We dressed her up, accessorized her and, of course, gave her a tiara!

Even Mommys of Boys need a little princess time every once in a while!

Age

I don't know if youth is wasted on the young.
Spending a day with my children does not make me feel old,
it makes me feel invigorated, inspired and young!

Today, as I celebrated my thirty-something Birthday, the boys brought me such joy.

I received lots of hugs, kisses and serenades of the Birthday Song

I enjoyed watching Sully share his Baby Love with Liliana while visiting with Johanna

The boys and I romped around the playground....

and, while I was trying to prove to myself how young I still am,
the boys were showing Mommy just what Big Boys they have become!

In the afternoon we had a treat that children of all ages enjoy - ice cream!

and played with Daddy on the playground!

After the boys were safely tucked into bed, Gill took me out for a night on the town.
We visited a new Brassiere that was fantastic! I enjoyed some of my favorite dishes from my youth (ie. Mid-Twenties in NYC) - Mussels, Frites and French Martinis!

It was a wonderful day!
And, while age is just a number, I loved that Patrick kept saying I was 22 years old!
