Gearing Up

The boys and I just got back from the a visit uptown on the train...
We went to the pre-race convention, to pick up my bib, shirt and tracking tag
and check out the ThunderRoad Race Car, of course!
Patrick and Finnegan made signs for the runners...
and we got FIRED UP for tomorrow's race!
I love my cheering team and can't wait to see them at the finish line!

Too Big Tuesday

This weekend Sullivan proved, once again, that he can hang with the big kids -
even on the playground!
Sullivan skipped the baby slide and went directly to the big one, armed with his big brothers and NO FEAR!

Halloween 2011

What a fantastic Halloween!
We started off with a spooky breakfast, complete with spiders in the milk,
 and pumpkin bread.
After breakfast, Patrick and Finnegan turned over their plates
and made some more spooky masks.
After breakfast, we got dressed and I brought Patrick and Finnegan to school...
as Jake the Pirate and Captain Hook!

Their Halloween Parade was adorable - Lizzy, Ginny, Patrick and Finn lead the way...
and when it came time for a class picture, Patrick and Finn stayed in character!
Sully and I went back to school later in the morning to for the class party.
In the afternoon, Patrick and Finnegan helped me prepare for our big trick or treating party,
 The yard looked great
But, the driveway was the best -
complete with the pirate ship Gill had made with the boys!!
Our Tick Tock Crock was ready to party with his friends...
and our guests, little and big, came to join the fun!
After we ate, drank and played with lots of friends and neighbors,
it was time for our pirate ship to set sail into the sea of candy!
Happy Halloween from our Pirate Crew to Yours!

FUNraising

This past month, Patrick and Finnegan have been working hard to raise money for great causes.

First, they had a hunt for Pennies for the Playground.  Their goal was to collect as many pennies, bring them to school and be the class with the most pennies at the end of the week.  We got our whole neighborhood involved in the hunt.  Johanna gave them all the pennies from her house, Chris cleared out all the change from his car and then Doug arrived on our doorstep....
that's right - he emptied his giant container on our front door and patiently sat with Patrick and Finnegan and helped them to sort out all the pennies.

A family afternoon at the greenway became another penny hunt,
as pennies "miraculously" appeared on our path!
I'm proud to say that the class raised a lot of money for the school playground and even earned the kids a special ice cream party to celebrate their accomplishments.

Yesterday, Weltz and Kilcoyne Kids got together for a St. Jude's Trike-a-Thon.  The kids biked almost 2 miles on the Greenway for the great cause.

They pedaled so far that they reached the end of the greenway...
and stopped to do some chalk artwork...
 before pedaling back.
Sully had so much fun with the big kids, as soon as anyone got off their bike,
he was right there, ready to climb on!
We are so proud of all the kids - you did an amazing job for a great cause!
