Summer Fun Week 9

This week was filled with adventures with friends

Sunday
Christine and Pierre invited us to a delicious brunch at their home.  They invited the boys' Golf Coach, Marc, and his family.  All 5 boys played really well together and had a fun time!
While I was cooking dinner later in the night, the guys all had a great game night.

Movie Monday
We took Patrick's best friend, Jack, to the movies to see "Shawn the Sheep"

Take a Trip Tuesday
We took Finnegan's best friend, Finn, with us to The Raptor Center.
The boys loved seeing all the raptors, especially the eagles, raptors and owls
Creating Art in their Raptor Art Centre
Sully chose to make paper airplanes instead
 Masterpieces

Wednesday
This morning, Eli and Wyatt spent the morning with us.
After the friends went home, the boys came with me to deliver my first custom hat order.  The boys were clearly proud to be coming to the store with me.  They introduced themselves to the shop owner, used their best manners, and were thrilled when the owner gave them all special cookies.  It was a great milestone for my business and I'm so happy the boys were there with me.
In the evening, Sully and I went to the Knights game with Parker and Sarah.
The buddies loved being together and I adored having a special Mommy and Me time with Sullivan.  He enjoyed a hot dog, popcorn, cotton candy, and more!  We both loved dancing with the scoreboard, cheering for the home team and looking for Homer, the Dragon.

Thursday
Today we continued the tradition and, for the second year in a row, went to the Riverbank Zoo with the  Pluchos Family.
Fun Facts about Patrick (the gorilla, not the kid, I hope)
 Finny and Sully
Feeding the Giraffes is always a highlight
 Finn feeding the Momma Giraffe
While Patrick was feeding one, the giraffe licked his face!
Sully LOVED the gentle giants
The Carousel, a favorite for all the kiddos
At the penguin house, the kids delighted in chasing the penguins from one side to another.
An exciting addition to the zoo this year was the grizzly bears.  The kids loved watching the two bears play, dig in the dirt and swim in the water.  It was so fun to watch the kids, watch the bears!
We truly love this tradition with the Pluchos'.  While our playdates during the school year will be sparse, because Sully will start Kindergarten, I hope we will always have our summer zoo trip.
Such a fun week with friends!

Summer Fun Week 8

Monday
This morning we joined Jenny, Charlotte and Nathan at their neighborhood pool
for swimming and lunch.

 Take a Trip Tuesday
To celebrate my birthday, Gill took the day off of work and our family drove up to Asheville.
We started off with an awesome lunch at the White Duck Taco Shop
Then, we went to Zen Tubing and floated down the French Broad River for 3 hours.
It was awesome.  We linked our tubes together, had a tube for our cooler of snacks and drinks, and just spent time being silly, swimming in the river, and enjoying each other.
 Patrick and Daddy
 Sully in his tube
 Finnegan gets in the river
Sully visits with a duck
Patrick jumps in and heads to a rock in the middle of the river

Finn moves us down the river
After our tubing adventure was over, we had the most delicious birthday dinner ever...
 at the chocolate lounge!
What a fantastic way to spend my birthday!

Wet and Wild Wednesday
We met up with the Chulo family at the YMCA pool this morning
The kids were happy to see their school friends!

Think about it Thursday
We headed back to the library this morning to get more summer reading books and to manage our adopted isle in the children's section.  In the afternoon, the Chulos came over to play.

Fun with Friends (and Family) Friday
We spent most of the day with the Felty Girls.  First, they played at our home...
and then later we went to  Superior Playthings to swing, jump and slide!
In the evening we went uptown to celebrate Dad's 75th birthday at Luciano's.
Patrick, Sully and Finnnegan all dressed up for the big night
Cheers to 75!

The boys loved the delicious food!
Sully chowed down on LOTS of italian bread
Patrick ordered a second bowl of spaghetti and meatballs!
Finnegan loved the "fancy italian mac & cheese"
To end the special evening, Dad was serenaded by family and musicians
as we brought out birthday dessert!
Happy Birthday Dad!

Saturday
Today we got all the back to school items to kick off 3rd Grade and Kindergarten.
This is the first year Sully has had a school supply list.
He was so excited to help find everything on it!

While I'm glad to check that task off the list, I'm grateful the boys have a couple more weeks left of summer vacation - I'm not ready for them to go back!
