Thankful for Daddy

The spirit of Thanksgiving lasted throughout the weekend in our home
(Fall ornaments still up and not a Santa in sight).

We had some really special time together this weekend with Daddy and it just goes to show how thankful the boys are to have such a wonderful dad.

It took us a whole week to bring Gill with us to the Charlotte Aviation museum, but boy, was it worth it!

Patrick and Finnegan helped Gill change the tires on his car. I have no pictures of this event, because I was too nervous to watch. However, the kids had a blast using all the tools and helping Daddy! (who knew changing tires was a 4 hour job?!?!)

We went on a nature walk with friends and explored the DragonFly Pond. Gill found walking sticks for the boys and they had a blast on the trails with Daddy.

I realize that I have no pictures of Gill with Sully. BUT, Sully was all over him at home. He cuddled with Daddy (while saying "DaDa" over and over) and had so much fun playing in the playroom with Daddy and his big brothers. Now that Sully is crawling, he will not stay put in the baby area and insists on playing with the big boys.

We are so thankful for Gill - he is a great dad!

Gobble Gobble

Thanksgiving was a quiet, but fun, event this year.

On Wednesday, Patrick and Finnegan (dressed in their turkey hats from school)
helped me make mini pumpkin pies.

They were delicious!

Thanksgiving Artwork from school adorned our home:

Thanksgiving Day started out with a yummy breakfast,
complete with a great fruit treat from NaNa and Pop Pop.

After breakfast, we headed uptown to the Charlotte Thanksgiving Day Parade.

We had so much fun watching the marching bands, cheerleaders and floats go by,
that no one even noticed the rain.

The boys made their own parade on the way back to the car.

Once we returned home, it was time to prepare for dinner. Patrick and Finnegan assisted with every part of the meal. They made the stuffing and turkey with Gill and then helped me with the sweet potatoes and green beans.

Sully was ready for his first Thanksgiving,
as was Gill, complete with sparkling cider for the boys.

Let the feast begin!

Patrick refused to have anything on his plate but Pumpkin Bread,
but Finnegan was a good sport and tried it all.

After dinner, we went for a walk around the neighborhood before returning home for mini pumpkin pies.

I am so thankful for my family and the wonderful holiday we spent together.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Masterpiece Monday

Getting into the Thanksgiving Spirit!

Native American Head-dresses made at school

After school, we ventured to the park to collect leaves and use our glue sticks to make a wreath

I am so thankful for my little artists.

Aviation Adventure

Yesterday, we visited the New Charlotte Aviation Museum with Jack and Ryan.
We were the first to arrive and got a special private tour from Mr. Steve.

The boys were in awe of all the planes and even more thrilled that they were able to
explore the insides of several of them.

Watch out Goose and Maverick - Here come Patrick, Jack and Finnegan!

Finn loved the yellow plane and Patrick couldn't wait to tell Daddy about the Giant Propellors

The Charlotte Aviation Museum was such a wonderful experience. The workers are so knowledgeable and patient with the little kids. I'm happy to say we now have a family membership and will be taking Gill back any day now.

We finished our Aviation Adventure with a picnic lunch at the runway overlook.

A fantastic adventure!
