Summer Fun Week 2

 Father's Day Sunday!
The boys and I let Gill sleep in and then surprised him with breakfast in bed and special presents.
Church with Daddy
In the afternoon, we went to Nannie and Pop Pop's house.  First, we went with PopPop to the neighborhood pool where we raced down the slide and did lots of daring tricks in the deep end.  It was so much fun!
Then, we went back to the house to celebrate with a delicious dinner with family and friends.
Finnegan and Pierre
 Delicious desserts
Sully waiting (not so) patiently for dessert to be served!
 All the guys!

Movie Monday
This week, the boys have Church Camp in the morning, so our weekly activities are only in the afternoon.  Today, we went to the movies to see Inside Out.  The boys were surprised that we had a special guest - we love when Daddy can play hooky for a few ours to join us!  SO FUN!

Take a Trip Tuesday
This afternoon we took the train uptown to Imaginon
Super Heroes READ!
We met up with the Callow Boys for a Raptor Show at the children's theater.
After the shows, the 5 boys played in the Clifford exhibit for hours!
They all used their imaginations and had a blast

Wet and Wild Wednesday
After camp today, the boys worked on a special project for a little boy in Haiti.  As part of the church program, the boys were asked to make placemats for a child that will be given along with all the food collected from our parish.  I think they did a great job!
Later in the afternoon, we met up with school friends at the YMCA pool!

Think About it Thursday
Finnegan requested that we go to the Energy Explorium today,
and that's just what we did!
The boys learned all about how weather affects the environment,
how to conserve energy, and just how the nuclear power plant works.
When we were walking around, I saw that the auditorium had a program paused on their large screen.  I went to the front desk and asked if it was something we could watch.  The extremely nice woman told me it was for a camp, but because it was over, she was happy to play it just for us.  So, the 4 of had the giant auditorium all to ourselves and got to watch a movie made by Disney Imagineers all about the different types of energy used at the parks.  It was awesome!
After the show, we had a snack outside, tossed the football in the field, threw sticks into the lake,
and got to see the nuclear power plant up VERY close!
It was an energy filled afternoon!

Fun with Friends Friday
Today was the last day of camp.
Gill and I went to see the kids perform at the final event
Sully, Susanna and Nicholas were all in the same group
Patrick and Finnegan
In the afternoon, we met Rebecca, Drew and Evan at the spray ground for water fun...
super heroes….
snacks...
and lots of football!

Summer Fun Week 1

Summer is in full swing with our first full week of summer vacation.  We didn't hesitate and jumped right into our summer schedule!  I'm so thrilled to have all the boys home and spending our time exploring and playing together.

Make it (Movie) Monday
Today's theme was dinosaurs.  We first dug for fossilized dinosaur bones.  Using Discovery Kids kits, we used tools to excavate TRex Bones and then built the 2 dinosaurs.
 P&F hard at work
 Sully & Mommy's finished dino
After dinos, we went to the library to their "Kick off Summer Reading" event
and after dinner it was time for the main event - Jurassic Park 3
The boys brought down all their dinos (including the skeletons we had assembled earlier in the day) and we enjoyed the scary movie together
(Sully was more interested in his toy dinosaurs,
but that's ok, we all had a great DINO DAY!)

Take a Trip Tuesday
We headed to South Carolina to the Schiele Museum today.  They had a great Planet exhibit.  We each did the scavenger hunt throughout the exhibit and answered all the space questions correctly and earned a prize at the end.  The highlight of the exhibit may have been the interactive lunar module!
After, we went to the Planetarium to learn more about space
Then, we explored the rest of the museum, including the TRex,
and Patrick's favorite part, a look into the Earth's core

Wet and Wild Wednesday
This afternoon we celebrated Nathan's 5th Birthday with a pool party
Sully loved swimming with Ashton, Nathan and Eli,
while the big guys had a blast with Romie

Think about it Thursday
This morning the boys helped me around the outside of the house.  We set up the sprinkler, played in the water, and they helped cleaned the front porch, deck and protect mommy from all those pesky spider webs.  I love my helpers!!
In the afternoon, we went to the library for a special Discovery Place presentation about Chemical Reactions.  The boys loved making slime, learning about chemical changes and had a BLAST with the science experiments (except for when the light up a hydrogen balloon and the sound resonated through the library)

Fun with Friends Friday
Today should really be called Fun with Girlfriends Friday!
In the morning, we met the Poole Girls at the YMCA for hours of swimming
In the afternoon, we went to the indoor playground with our new neighborhood friends, the Felty's (they also have 3 girls and all 6 kids get along so well)
All six kids in 2 trampolines
Sully swinging while the rest of the crew is in the trampoline plotting
 Finn, Patrick and Cameron

What a week!  Such a fabulous way to kick off the summer!
