Memorial Day Weekend

This weekend was so much fun.
The weather was absolutely gorgeous, so we spent it outside with great friends!

After school on Friday, I took the boys to the Strawberry patch.  Not to pick strawberries, but to play at the farm with duck races, mazes and sandboxes - and enjoy strawberry slushies, of course!
On Saturday morning we went to a local park.
After playing at the playground, we went for a picnic lunch by the lake
and then played some more in the sand.
Sand pictures of Mom and Dad
Good Scoop, Sully - now do NOT throw the sand!!
After church on Sunday, we went to Nannie and Pop Pop's house.  Mom made a delicious spaghetti and meatball lunch followed by everyone's favorite desserts (cupcakes, carrot cake AND cookies!)

We love this picture of the boys, curled up on the couch after lunch, playing with the iphone.
After lunch, we went to the tennis courts and Pop Pop began to teach the boys how to play, while Gill and I were able to volley a bit.  it was great fun.  We ended our visit with a trip to the playground.

At night, after the boys went to bed, Gill fired up the grill and made a delicious mexican bbq dinner and lots of margaritas for us and our neighbors.

This morning, we met the Pluchos family at the playground.  With Chris and Gill there to help, Melissa and I did not feel so outnumbered.  It was nice to have the families together and I'm sorry we didn't get a picture.  Patrick and Finnegan really enjoyed seeing Athena & Sebastian and "helping" to take care of them.  I know we'll get more opportunities to do so this summer.

The Whites had us over tonight for an awesome Memorial Day BBQ.  The kids had a blast playing in their playroom and outside at the water table.  Kevin and Jenny made a delicious dinner and sweet Charlotte made special worm and dirt dessert, which we all loved, especially the boys!

 Buddies Sully and Nathan
Not a great picture, but we did get all 5 kids!
It was a wonderful weekend - Happy Memorial Day!

Sully's Last Day of Preschool

Today was Sullivan's last day of preschool.
He had such a wonderful year, it was truly a great experience for Sully.
Sully and his class had a special last day and soon it was time to say "goodbye" to his teachers.
After school, we met up with friends to celebrate the last day of school, armed with summer goodies!
First, the kiddos enjoyed ice cream...
then Sully gave his friends the bubble wands...
and we went to the park to blow bubbles
but the bubbles were not nearly as interesting as
the giant mud puddle in the middle of the grass!
 We're a mess and we're happy!
 Goodbye preschool and HAPPY SUMMER!

Muffins for ME!

While we were away, the kindergarteners hosted "Muffins for Mom".  The boys worked so hard for their big day and were disappointed they missed it, but we ended up with something even more special!

Today, I was invited into the classroom for my very own event!
The entire class performed three beautiful songs for me, including one using sign language.
Then, the boys presented me with books, paper flowers and portraits of mommy -
all created just by them!
It was so special, I loved my morning with the kindergarteners!

Disney Day 4

Today was not only our last day in Florida, but Mother's Day as well.
After we packed up our Disney House, we headed to Downtown Disney.
We enjoyed lunch at the TRex Cafe.
While waiting for our table, the kids enjoyed the dino dig - and found many fossils.
We sat down at our table and were surrounded by pteranadons, triceratops
and, of course, TRex.

I love this picture of our table.  While waiting for our food, everyone was engaged in an electronic devise, except me, I was concentrating on my bloody Mary!
After lunch, it was time to say "goodbye" to the Rodgers.  It was not an easy thing to do, we made such great memories with them on this trip.  But, we have promised that we will try our best to see each other every year, and I plan to do just that!

For months, the boys have been saving their money in "adventure jars".  Finally, the time came for them to spend their hard earned savings as they saw fit.  Patrick and Finnegan were so proud to pick out their toy and pay with their own money.  Patrick was even thrilled that he got change and a receipt!
All three boys chose different Buzz Lightyear blasters as their special gift.
After shopping, Goofy's Sweet Shoppe called my name!
Everyone got to chose a special treat.
Sully dove right into his Rice Krispy Mickey Ears!
We stopped at the Lego Store on our way out of Downtown Disney.  The kids enjoyed all the lego sculpture - especially Buzz & Woody!
Finally, we it was time to leave DisneyWorld.
We had a magical time!
