Dress Like a Farmer Day

Today was Dress Like A Farmer Day at preschool
Sully was all decked out for the occasion
and even picked out his own farmer hat at the party store.
On the way to school Sully kept asking if this friend or that would be dressed up.  (I think he was scared he would be the only one).  However, when we arrived the teachers and most of the students looked just like farmers.  Even the classroom was decorated like a farm.
Farmer Sully had a great day at school.
He made this adorable pig today - too cute!

Eye Doctor Visit

Today Sully went to the eye doctor for a check up.
He was such a big boy - he sat still for all the tests, got his eyes dilated,
sat in the "rocket ship chair" and read all the letters and numbers.
While he looked totally cool in the glasses,
we got good news that he doesn't need them.

Recycled Art Project

A week ago Patrick and Finnegan signed up to compete in the school's Recycled Art Competition.  The goal was to use only recycled materials to make a unique art project.  They signed up in the group competition so they could work together.  The group competition meant that they were competing with K-5s.  They decided to make a Super Hero Race Track.  Gill worked with them to build the track and then I helped them make it pretty!  (They did all the work themselves, we just made sure they didn't use box cutters or paint the kitchen table purple)
Today, I helped them carry it into school and submit it.  They were so proud of their work.  Tonight, our family went back to the school for the Night of the Arts.  It included musical performances, the school choir and the announcement for the winners of the art contest.  We went back to see their art on display and ran into Mr. Moore, the principal.  Patrick and Finnegan were so excited to show him their work.  They asked him what his favorite part was, and he told them it was the Bat Man Tunnel!
We listened to the musicians in the auditorium and then it was time to announce the winners.  First, they announced the winners for the individuals.
After the individuals were all done, Mr. Moore opened the envelope for the K-5 group project.  He opened the envelope, looked inside and smiled.  Then he said "The winners of the group competition are, our own DYNAMIC DUO with their Super Hero Race Track - Kindergarteners Finnegan and Patrick Kilcoyne!!!"  The whole auditorium cheered!  Big kids gave our boys hi-fives as they went up to the front to receive their prize from Mr. Moore.  They stood proudly in the front as they received a $50 Target gift card.  They were told that they will be on the school's morning news tomorrow and have their work displayed in the Media Center.  They also received a first prize ribbon.
What a night!  We are so proud of the boys.  Patrick's idea was to make a race track and Finnegan wanted to make Super Heros, they worked together (and VERY hard) and came out with a winning project!

First Sleepover

Today, Patrick and Finnegan had a very special night.  They packed their new suitcases from Nannie and Pop Pop and headed over to their house for a sleepover.  They were so excited to go and were spoiled with new PJ's, surprises and special meals.
Because it was the first sleepover, Sully stayed home with us.  That's not to say he didn't have a special day though.  We started by going to Athena and Sebastian's 2nd Birthday Party.  Sully was happy to celebrate with his sweet friends and enjoyed bringing Athena snacks while she sat patiently.
After the party, we asked Sully what he wanted for dinner.
He said "Let's go to Zoe's Kitchen".
And so we did - enjoying a nice quiet dinner out, just the three of us!
We ended the night with frisbee on the front lawn.
It was a special night for all our boys!

Spring Break

Spring Break was full of outings.  The weather was beautiful for most of the week and we took advantage of the many parks in the area.

On Tuesday, Gill was home with us and we enjoyed a great afternoon
outside at a playground and nature trails.

 Finnegan swinging Super Fast
Patrick took a turn with Sully and solo
Sully and I prepare for a water fight with Daddy and the Big Boys
On Wednesday, we met up with friends at Chuck E Cheese.  That's right, the boys wore me down enough that I finally gave in!  They had so much fun and won enough tickets that each boy got a prize.
In the afternoon we met up with friends at another playground.
Thursday morning started at Space Kidets, bouncing in the inflatables and playing arcade games.  It was great because everyone had same-aged friends to play with.  Sully had 2 friends with him and Patrick and Finn played with Bridget and Emily.

In the afternoon, we went to Bricks for Kids, a lego-themed activity center.  Patrick and Finnegan built Star Wars themed jets and monster trucks.
They were so proud of their creations, as am I.

Sully found alphabet letters and proceeded to do the ABC's without any help -
Go Sully!
It was a fun week, with a weekend filled with sports season-openers, but that it a blog post all of it's own!

Season Openers

Today was a big day for the Kilcoynes - Season Openers!

Our day started early with the first practice and tee ball game.
What a difference a year makes!  The boys started off the season strong!
Patrick got a great hit!
Followed by Finnegan - what a double header!
Patrick runs home and waits at home for Finnegan to follow!
On the sidelines, cheering his brothers was Sully.
He cheered for the "LUGNUTS" (and spent some time on the ipad)
It was a great first game.
After Tee Ball was over it was time for Sully's turn at soccer.
He met his coaches and got his jersey.  The jersey number is 5, but he spent a few minute negotiating with the coaches for #3, because he is 3 years old!
The team started off with stretching...
and doing drills, with some help from Daddy.
Big Brothers cheered from the sidelines
Our Super Soccer Player!
Go GREEN GATORS!
