Thanksgiving Weekend

This Thanksgiving was such an amazing adventure!  On Tuesday we packed our bags and headed up north.  Our plan was to drive halfway and get a hotel, but when the alerts started about a winter storm, we opted to drive straight thru the night.

We called Ralph in the middle of the night and asked for a place to sleep when we got close to the city. Our dear friend, welcomed us (in the snow) at 4 am and carried in our sleepy boys.
When we awoke, the boys were greeted by special turkey cupcakes that Uncle Ralph had gone to the bakery early to pickup.
While Ralph went to work for a bit, we headed into NYC.
The boys chose to go to their favorite store- Scholastic
Then, we headed to meet Ralph at the best pizza joint in New York!
After our visit with Ralph, we went to Brooklyn to have Thanksgiving weekend with Rosemarie and her family.  Rosemarie's entire family welcomed us with open arms.  The boys had sleepovers with Lucas every night, while Gill and I stayed a few houses down at Stephanie and Matt's home.  The foursome were so happy to be together.
On Thanksgiving Day, we visited the Italian Bakery, had antipasto with Alex's family, and then had a delicious dinner at the Sanabria's home. We truly felt like part of the family and it was such a special day.
On Friday (after very early shopping with Rosemarie and Stephanie) all the families headed into New York for an adventure.  Our first stop was Rockefeller Center to see the Tree.
Then, we all went to Discovery TimeSquare for an Avengers Experience.  The boys learned all about how to be a super hero!  It was a blast.
We ended our trip to New York with dinner and a visit to the center of Times Square where the boys got to see themselves on the jumbo-tron!

We said goodbye to the Amatores on Saturday morning and went to Madison where we celebrated Grandpa Neil's 80th Birthday on Saturday night before heading home on Sunday.
What a great Thanksgiving Adventure!
