Summer Fun Week 1

With our several beach trips, this was the first full week of Summer Fun activities at home.

Make It (Movie) Monday
With our vast collection of sea shells from our beach trips, we had quite a collection.  The boys and I cleaned and sorted all the shells.  Then, we designed, glued and painted the shells to make beautiful Christmas decorations.

And, because our movie of the week was "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs",
we made a meatball dinner before movie time!

Take a Trip Tuesday
Today we drove down to The Museum of York County.
We enjoyed the new Planetarium Show and then explored the rest of the museum.
Sully enjoyed (and lined up) all the dinosaurs)
While Patrick and Finn focused on freaking me out with giant bugs!

Wet and Wild Wednesday
Today we packed a picnic lunch and headed to Nannie and Pop Pop's
pool for an afternoon of swimming
With the lifeguards present, the boys took the swimming test.
They passed and can officially ride the large water slide alone!

Think About It Thursday
We spent the afternoon at the Charlotte Nature Museum.  After exploring the inside for an hour, we went to the outdoor area which had been redone since our last visit.  The boys loved climbing on giant bugs, building wooden towers and exploring the pond.

Fun with Friends Friday
Today was a very special Friday -
Patrick and Finn's Birthday AND 4th of July!
We started the special day with a festive breakfast and presents
After breakfast, we put on our red, white and blue
and headed to the Waxhaw Parade.
Wagon full of festive goodies for our friends.
Our family enjoyed the parade with so many great friends!
After the parade, the boys chose to go to TRUE PIZZA for their birthday lunch.
In the afternoon we headed to Nannie and Pop Pops for a great time at the pool.  The boys rode the giant slide, we all swam together, and enjoyed the band playing poolside.
In the evening, we had dinner with mom and dad before a fireworks celebration.
Mom setup a beautiful dessert table and, while it didn't fit the decor,
I brought a special transformers cake for the boys!
Mom and Dad's guests arrived and we all headed to
the upstairs porch to watch the fireworks over the golf course.
 What a wonderful week!
