Summer Fun Week 8

Monday
This morning we joined Jenny, Charlotte and Nathan at their neighborhood pool
for swimming and lunch.

 Take a Trip Tuesday
To celebrate my birthday, Gill took the day off of work and our family drove up to Asheville.
We started off with an awesome lunch at the White Duck Taco Shop
Then, we went to Zen Tubing and floated down the French Broad River for 3 hours.
It was awesome.  We linked our tubes together, had a tube for our cooler of snacks and drinks, and just spent time being silly, swimming in the river, and enjoying each other.

 Sully in his tube
 Finnegan gets in the river
Sully visits with a duck
Patrick jumps in and heads to a rock in the middle of the river

Finn moves us down the river
After our tubing adventure was over, we had the most delicious birthday dinner ever...
 at the chocolate lounge!
What a fantastic way to spend my birthday!

Wet and Wild Wednesday
We met up with the Chulo family at the YMCA pool this morning
The kids were happy to see their school friends!

Think about it Thursday
We headed back to the library this morning to get more summer reading books and to manage our adopted isle in the children's section.  In the afternoon, the Chulos came over to play.

Fun with Friends (and Family) Friday
We spent most of the day with the Felty Girls.  First, they played at our home...
and then later we went to  Superior Playthings to swing, jump and slide!
In the evening we went uptown to celebrate Dad's 75th birthday at Luciano's.
Patrick, Sully and Finnnegan all dressed up for the big night
Cheers to 75!

The boys loved the delicious food!
Sully chowed down on LOTS of italian bread
Patrick ordered a second bowl of spaghetti and meatballs!
Finnegan loved the "fancy italian mac & cheese"
To end the special evening, Dad was serenaded by family and musicians
as we brought out birthday dessert!
Happy Birthday Dad!

Saturday
Today we got all the back to school items to kick off 3rd Grade and Kindergarten.
This is the first year Sully has had a school supply list.
He was so excited to help find everything on it!

While I'm glad to check that task off the list, I'm grateful the boys have a couple more weeks left of summer vacation - I'm not ready for them to go back!
