Masterpiece Monday

After last week's adventure to the orchard, we got right to work making all kinds of delicious treats with the apples.  The first project we worked on were apple pies.  Patrick and Finnegan peeled and cored the apples, tossed in all the spices and even assembled the crusts.
The pies were so delicious and the boys were so proud, especially when they brought one to
school to share with Mrs. P and the class.
 Excellent and SUPER yummy masterpieces!

Masterpiece Monday

Over the weekend, we took the boys to the Charlotte Nature Museum for a special event.
We go to the museum very often and always have such a great time,
especially because all 3 boys can enjoy it together.

While we were at the museum, the boys created Christmas Ornaments made out of snakeskin. Nothing says the holidays quite like reptiles, right?!?!

Great job boys!

A Day at the Orchard

Today we drove up to Sky Top Orchard for apple picking.  It was a cool, overcast day, and we started out warming up with hot apple cider donuts.  These donuts were so delicious and I actually watched the cook make our batch to order, talk about fresh!
 Then, we hit the orchards.
There was an abundance of apples on the trees and we had a blast picking them.
Sullivan picked his first Fuji apple and bit right into it.
(and then proceeded to take a bite out of every apple that we picked)
We filled 3 buckets piled high with Fuji, Gala and Granny Smiths.
After apple picking, we explored the farm, had a picnic lunch...
Played in the Giant Pumpkin..
and ended with a hayride around the orchard.
A day at the orchard with our family - it couldn't have been any sweeter.

Flashback Friday

Last week, Sully and Liliana had a playdate while the big guys were at school.
They played beautifully together...

posed for a picture...
and give each other high 5's when it was time to say "goodbye"
Here is a flashback to exactly one year ago - what a difference a year makes!

Too Big Tuesday

Today, Sullivan proved that he is not too big to be upset by a visit to the doctor.  We went for a well visit and from the moment we set foot into the room, he was inconsolable.  Icepops, cellphones, goldfish, nothing made Sully happy except watching the doctor and nurses LEAVE the room - then he was all smiles.

After a very long doctors visit, we left happy - with a healthy boy!

Weight:  28.8 lbs

First Day of School Blues

While Patrick and Finnegan had a great day of school yesterday, their baby brother had a rough one.  We started off just fine - family breakfast, everyone in new clothes for the big day and some family pictures.

After we brought the big guys to school, Sullivan and I went to Gymboree.  We have not been to Gymboree in quite a few months, but jumped right back into the swing of things.  Sully loved all the equipment and games, but was not at all interested in the other little kids.  He rarely engaged other children but when he did, Sully pointed at them and said "BABY".  I honestly believe he sees himself as a 4 year old and could not be bothered with these toddlers!  Hopefully, Gymboree, storytime and some toddler playdates will help to remedy this.

When we got home, Sullivan ran around the house yelling "FINN, FINN!!"
(If I haven't mentioned it before, Sully calls both of his brothers, "Finn")

After determining the I am just too boring, Sullivan went off to find someone else to play with - and came back with another set of twins!
Apparently, the new twins just don't know how to play trains like his big brothers,
and Sully cast them aside - no one replaces Patrick and Finnegan!

As we were outside the school doors waiting to pick up his brothers, Sullivan was banging on the door and yelling "I PLAY, I PLAY".  I have never seen him so happy to see Patrick and Finnegan as he was when we got them from their classroom.

In the afternoon we did some special things that all 3 brothers loved - frozen yogurt and the playground.  Nothing makes Sully happier than being with his Big Brothers.

First Day of School

Today was Patrick and Finnegan's first day of school.
We were all fired up and ready to go - with just a little Lightning McQueen gear!
 Patrick and Finnegan
Watch out school, here we come!
Not a tear was shed, the boys were all smiles all day!
Looking forward to a great school year!!

Groupies

Several times in the past few months, I have taken the boys to see a musician at a local children's toy store.  Mr. Nigel is famous amongst Charlotte moms for singing songs that both kids and parents can enjoy.

During one of our visits, Mr. Nigel announced that he had a CD for sale.
Since then we have been Movin' and Groovin' with Mr. Nigel & Friends.

This past weekend, our whole family went to Plaza Fiesta for a family concert with
Patrick and Finnegan's Favorite Musician.

There was drumming...

dancing...

and a whole lot of smiles.

I have to agree with the boys, Mr. Nigel is great
and inspires our whole family to sing along.
